Arrived in Seoul, Toads croaking

little arrow21 comments so far...

Annyeong Haseyo! after one 6 hour flight that felt like 2, and then one 7 hour flight that felt like 12, and then a 2-3 hour car ride, we made it!

we just had something to eat at Jesus-like church in Seoul, and now we're getting ready to sleep properly for the first time in over 16 hours. trust me, it feels like a lot more than that.

unfortunately i have no pictures to hand (although it seemed liked we took one every 2 minutes in every airport), and no video as yet. Taiwo is doing press-ups in the hallway, but nobody wants to see that.

i think i will put duct tape over Taiwo's mouth tonight to stop him from bamboozling our Korean host who speaks very little english. either that or i will hit him on the head with a wok.

anyway everythings fine, everybody is happy (and smelly) and we have to be up by 6 in the morning so good night!

Gamsa Hamnida!

ps. its very hot, and the toads outside are very noisy! Praise the Lord we have air conditioning!

pps. Taiwo is now singing in the shower, i can hear him from two rooms away. now commencing search for wok....

Hi, Hope Taiwo escaped the wok. Sounds like you guys are already having fun! I am off to Israel with Jane and Syl in a few hours. See you all when we all get back. The wedding in Italy went really well, Victoria looked gorgeous, and Lee looked good too.

Hey Michael, Lama ma kara?!? Have no fear, wok is on the way. I expressed DHL your wok as your distress signal came up!!! (says John B.) Taiwo has been anusience to this planet for far too long... Wok is set to kill not stun, so be careful!!! May the force be with you, my young apprentice. John and Annie.....

Shalom from Jerusalem, Sylvia says the food is undescribable. we managed to fall asleep during our first car tour of the walls of jerusalem. But we had been awake and travelling for 36 hours at that time due to delays. The weather is very hot, we have met a lot of very nice people including Israeli Ethiopian believers who have shown us great hospitality even when they have very little themselves. It has been a very great pleasure to meet with local peole. Sylvia and Jane A have been bartering. We are helping out where we can and experiencing israeli culture. We were very priviledged to be cooked a traditional ethiopian meal, which we ate traditonal style with our fingers. We are making freinds. People know where we come from due to the fame of Manchester United. Our host has blessed us greatly and shown us many places of interest, we were more awake today! Hope to chat soon Syl, and Jane x 2. ps it is interesting being introduced as Jane, Sylvia and Jane XXX

#12 - jane, syl and jane - israel - May 31, 2007 at 07:23 PM

You were right Annie, food and drink tasted really good after 5 1/2 hours touring the old city. We are learning so much about biblical history. It is so good to see sites that we normally only read about, it is like a walking history lesson every where we go. I asked one Arab gentleman that showed us an Armenian church if he believed in Yeshua his response was "as much as I believe in my green mother"' he was having a joke and we discovered that he had no faith. We have now done our fair share of ironing graduation gowns we are in the middle of getting through 50! Sylvia is organising us and Jane and Jane are ironing. Sylvia knows exactly who's gown belongs to who down to the exact size and detail. They want to keep her at the college so watch out Karen and John. We have all shared testimonies which has helped some of the women we have met, Sylvia has also led someone to Yeshua which is better than my sucess with the man with the green mother. We have now found the garden tombs. I believe one is the true one, Sylvia believes another one is the real one and Jane A is not convinced. We are going to a Derick Prince conference tomorrow. Our host used to know him well, and has one of his chairs. We are still trying to locate a camel, we have heard that there is a Bedouim on the mount of olives somewhere who has one. We walked a long way to the garden of Gethsemane to find it was shut for lunch! We couldnt bare the walk back up the hill so we got a taxi. 'Sylvia and Jane now have plasters on there feet. Janes are for prevention and Sylvias are for cure. We have seen a lot of hubbly bubblies, if you know what this is send answers on a post card. Closing for now - ready for more service for Yeshua Jane, Sylvia and Jane xxx

Hi Israel Team - what a hoot - love your blog! My carnal side has just revealed itself reading all the wonderful things you are all doing - but don't worry I'll deal with my flesh and hold the fort here. I'm glad to hear Sylvia is getting to grips with graduation as that's top of her list when she gets back, and no Sylvia you can't stay! Jane just to comfort you Midnight is doing fine and now fully recovered from flying through the air on the end of Gordon's foot - Kim nursed him through the trauma! As for Camels - well there sure aint any here - so invest in more plasters and keep looking - although I do have a contact number for a Lawrence in Arabia - maybe he could help! Miss you all - blessings Karen

Hello everyone, It is so good to see the "trio" in Jerusalem. They are blosseming!!! Took them souvenir shopping in the old city. Sylvia made a good impression with her lovely smile. I could have sold them for many camels, but I knew that I would have to give answers to Karen... So don't worry, you'll get them back, I promise! Annie

Hi all Israel is an amazing place. We are finding out so much. We have started working in a distribution centre which helps give support for jews returning to Israel. They are only allowed to bring one suitcase with them when they come from places like Russia. So you can imagine that they have great need when they get here in order to set up a home. They have a beautiful bridal suite where wedding gowns etc are donated and brides to be can come and get a beautiful gown. It is more beautiful than any bridal place I have seen in the UK. They make people feel really special. They try to make people who come to the center feel very special as they have often been badly treated people in the past. We will be going up to Galilee at the end of the week, and sharing a Shabat meal with the family we will be staying with The bible really begins to make more meaning when you see things that you read about. We are learning so much. We are constantly moved by what we see and learn and on many occasions cant bear the pain we feel. It is so good to know that Jesus is with us and helps us. I can see very well why Jesus wept over Jerusalem.
